Next-gen bodyboarders show off their stuff

The third annual Keiki Ocean Fest was held yesterday in extremely fun surf at Waimanlo bay beach park. Oahu’s youth showed up in full force ranging from 4 to 15 years of age. The weather report lead the events volenteers to believe that the event could be a rain out.

However Mother Nature had different plans for the Keiki’s and provide sun and waves for all. With only a sprinkle mid morning the rest of the day was amazing, sunny and with fun swell for large turn out on hand.

The Keiki Ocean Fest is like one big family and this year we had a good amount of new faces added to the growing Ohana. The talent at the Keiki Oceanfest was impressive. Both eastside locals and visiting Leedward, Town and Northshore Keiki ripped their way through the day. The entire field was treated to a free lunch by Wahoo’s Fish Tacos and Keneke’s, which fueled them for big performance

Standouts outs of the event came in the form of Blain (father) and Quixion (Child) Andrews busting full air rolls in the Tandem Division which lead them to the win. For complete story please visit:

Wipeout Of The Year

Sunday, June 27th, 2010

Check out some of these amazing wipeouts as big wave surfers practically cheat death as they are tossed around by these massive waves. I have to say that some of these waves look really scary and I think you have to be a little “out there” to even attempt these insane sized waves. Still, they are really cool to watch.

The Virginia Beach surfing community gathered together to go surfing with several of the United States Of Americas wounded in action services members. The whole idea of this camp was for us surfers to find a way to give back to our service members who have given so much for us!

Where in the world will we find the best new kiteboarding spots?

Frederic Gravoille, Executive Director of the Kiteboard Pro World Tour (KPWT) has taken decisive steps forward in his move to secure a new location for the global Tour looking to continents iconic beaches and waterways as a likely addition to the 2010-2011-2012 tour.

With a serious commitment to nurture the growth and dominance of the world tour series, KPWT has appointed global Sports and Event marketing specialists, to undertake a robust on-ground and in-market feasibility study that should ensure that the Tour`s global success can be replicated down-under. “In 12 short years we’ve taken a completely new, grass-roots sport and created a truly global series, that brings the worlds best kiteboarders, hundreds of support staff and media together in some of worlds most exotic locations.

But before getting too far down the line, it was crucial to the event`s longevity, that both the location and the commercial model were right and were working hard with a strong sport maerketing to make that happen. We plan to make further announcements before the end of the year”, says Gravoille. Source:
